Coddiwomple (v.) Origin: English Slang Word. Definition: To travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination.
Anyone up for a Coddiwomple drive today? If you are free today and would like to go for a drive with no destination in mind that will end up somewhere for dinner, then meet Liz and me at the Albertson’s Stinker station (map it) at 3:00 p.m. today. There I will give out the instructions for a Coddiwomple drive. We will wait until 3:30 p.m. then set out for unknown locations. You can leave your passports at home, I have to be a work tomorrow ;<)
Hope to see you there at 3:00 p.m.
Albertson’s Stinker Station 4700 N Eagle Rd, Boise, ID 83713
I count 29 clubs in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Nevada, and California. They are now listed in the IBCC Web HERE. Let me know if I have missed any.
The next addition to the Web I would like to work on is a list of local shops and mechanics that do a great job for us in keeping our LBCs on the road. If you have any shop or mechanic you can recommend, send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The cities of Boise and Garden City have followed suit with Eagle and have closed portions (actually, most) of the Greenbelt due to dangerous conditions along the river. This will force us to canceled the walk for this year. But I hope you all can make it to the Ram restaurant for lunch.
Where: Ram restaurant, 709 E Park Blvd, Boise. When: 11:30 a.m.
If you have any questions, please contact me at email@example.com
Bob Muenchausen, one of the founding member of the Club, recently cleaned house and donated lots of books and other items to the Club. Some of you are now lucky owners of some of these items! But in the these, that I held onto was a Spoke & Word newsletter from May 1992 (Volume 1, Number 2). Yes, the second newsletter for a new club.
Back then, it was the “Idaho MG’S” club. Sometime between then and now, the Idaho MG’S got together with the TOADS (Triumph Owners and Drivers) and formed the Idaho British Car Club. As the say, the rest is history.
You can find the newsletter here: https://www.idahobritishcars.org/newsletters/2001/5-May-2001.pdf
But wait! There is more. Also in the items was a CD with photos on it from a drive the club took up to the Brown Hole (Rex and Bev’s place) and lunch at the Triangle restaurant, Sweet, ID. You can see the photos here: https://www.idahobritishcars.org/gallery-2/#1491322736682-81babf47-02d7.
