Impromptu Coddiwomple Drive

Sunday, May 21, 2017

Coddiwomple (v.) Origin: English Slang Word. Definition: To travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination.

Anyone up for a Coddiwomple drive today?  If you are free today and would like to go for a drive with no destination in mind that will end up somewhere for dinner, then meet Liz and me at the Albertson’s Stinker station (map it) at 3:00 p.m. today.  There I will give out the instructions for a Coddiwomple drive.  We will wait until 3:30 p.m. then set out for unknown locations.  You can leave your passports at home, I have to be a work tomorrow ;<)

Hope to see you there at 3:00 p.m.

IBCC Web Updates

Northwest Regional British Car Clubs!

I count 29 clubs in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Nevada, and California.  They are now listed in the IBCC Web HERE.  Let me know if I have missed any.

The next addition to the Web I would like to work on is a list of local shops and mechanics that do a great job for us in keeping our LBCs on the road.  If you have any shop or mechanic you can recommend, send me an email to webmaster@idahobritishcars.org.

IBCC Walk-About Canceled!

But Lunch is Still ON!

The cities of Boise and Garden City have followed suit with Eagle and have closed portions (actually, most) of the Greenbelt due to dangerous conditions along the river.  This will force us to canceled the walk for this year.  But I hope you all can make it to the Ram restaurant for lunch.

Where: Ram restaurant, 709 E Park Blvd, Boise.
When: 11:30 a.m.

If you have any questions, please contact me at webmaster@idahobritishcars.org

NEXT YEAR!

Ready for a Blast From the Past?

Wow! They look younger back then!

Bob Muenchausen, one of the founding member of the Club, recently cleaned house and donated lots of books and other items to the Club.  Some of you are now lucky owners of some of these items!  But in the these, that I held onto was a Spoke & Word newsletter from May 1992 (Volume 1, Number 2).  Yes, the second newsletter for a new club.

Back then, it was the “Idaho MG’S” club.  Sometime between then and now, the Idaho MG’S got together with the TOADS (Triumph Owners and Drivers) and formed the Idaho British Car Club.  As the say, the rest is history.

You can find the newsletter here: https://www.idahobritishcars.org/newsletters/2001/5-May-2001.pdf

But wait! There is more.  Also in the items was a CD with photos on it from a drive the club took up to the Brown Hole (Rex and Bev’s place) and lunch at the Triangle restaurant, Sweet, ID.  You can see the photos here: https://www.idahobritishcars.org/gallery-2/#1491322736682-81babf47-02d7.

Enjoy,

[...]

Come join us for the 3rd annual walk along the Boise and Idaho Foundation for Parks and Lands Greenbelt, followed up with a lunch at the Ram restaurant, 709 E Park Blvd, Boise, ID.  This is a great way to add a little SPRING to your step and get you ready for the new driving season.  As one of the club members has stated, “if you are driving little British cars, you should be prepared to do a little walking.”

We have planned several different starting points for you to choose or you can choose to meet up at the Ram for lunch.  The main walk is approximately 7 miles with other walks at 13, 4 and 2 miles.

Here are the starting points, locations and start times:
  • 7:00 am – Hilton Garden Inn parking, 145 E Riverside Dr, Eagle, ID. The distance to the Ram is a little under 13 miles.
  • 9:00 am – [...]
